Kazakhstan will subsidize grain transportation to Azov, Black and Baltic Seas ports from March, Vice-Minister of Agriculture Muslim Umiryaev said, Novosti Kazakhstan reported.

"We consider an opportunity to subsidize transportation costs through the territory of Russia to the ports of the Azov, Black and Baltic Seas from March," Umiryaev said at a briefing on Tuesday.

However, the Ministry of Agriculture refused to subsidize grain supplies to Azerbaijan through the territory of Russia.

"This direction does not need to be subsidized currently," Umiryaev said.
Kazakhstan has collected 30 million tons in bunker weight and 26 million tons of grain in net weight in 2011. This is a record grain harvest within years of independence. Eight million tons of the grain harvest will be used for domestic consumption. Export potential is estimated at 15 million tons.

According to Umiryaev, the traditional markets for Kazakh grain are Central Asia countries, Afghanistan and Iran. Moreover, in this year Kazakh grain was supplied to Egypt, the Mediterranean countries and Belarus.
