Tajikistan's industrial production amounted to 690 million somoni ($145 million) in January, 2012 growing by 15.9 percent compared to January, 2011, Asia-Plus reported with reference to the country's Ministry of Energy and Industry.
The enterprises within the jurisdiction of the Ministry exceeded their production by 30 million somoni.
The share of extracting industry in the total industrial production of Tajikistan amounted to 6.3 percent in January, manufacturing industry- 69.5 percent, production and distribution of electricity, water and gas - 24.2 percent.
Tajikistan's import of wheat in January increased by 3.5 times compared to January, 2011, flour - by 2.4 times. These factors allowed to increase the production of bakery and macaroni food.
