French group of companies Alstom is interested in projects for the development of railway infrastructure, urban public transport in Astana and Almaty, as well as in the production of electricity in Kazakhstan, Kazinform reports.
President of Alstom Patrick Kron said about it to journalists after the meeting with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev in Paris.
Many joint projects were discussed during the meeting with President Nazarbayev, he added.
"In particular, the projects on development of railway infrastructure - a joint production of switch gear, maintenance of existing locomotives, railway worker's training, namely drivers. We have also expressed interest in the development of public transport in Kazakhstan - Astana (Skytrain) and Almaty. We are also interested in participating in the development of projects for power generation. Our company occupies a leading position in this sector," Kron said.
