In January 2018, 14.7 million passengers were transported by airplanes in Turkey, the Turkish Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications told Trend Feb. 8.
The number of passengers transported by airplanes on domestic flights increased by 16.2 percent in January 2018 compared to January 2017.
"In January 2018, the number of passengers transported by airplanes on international flights increased by 11.8 percent compared to January 2017," the ministry said.
In January 2018 the volume of cargo transported by airplanes amounted to 260,000 tons, which is 27.7 percent more compared to January 2017.
