Azerbaijan is considering the possibility of creating a system of instant payments based on blockchain technology, says the state program on expansion of digital payments in 2018-2020, approved by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
The payment systems, bank card transactions, as well as internal systems of banks and payment service providers will be integrated into this system, the state program reads.
In addition, the integration into this system of cash registers, operators and other entities receiving mass payments is envisaged.
It is noted in the program that with the help of this system, the digital payment transactions between individuals, enterprises and government agencies will be supported 24/7. Each transaction will be processed within 5-10 seconds.
