Tehran, Iran, Aug.3
Trend:
After Sandro, Brillance and some other companies, Kia Motors Corporation also pulls out of Iran due to the US sanctions against this country.
Following some of the foreign partners of Iran's Saipa Group, South Korean KIA Motors Co also pulled out of Iran and ended its cooperation with Saipa Group, Trend reports citing SaipaGroup official website.
As a result of the decision of KIA Motors, the production of Kia Serato car in Saipa will be suspended this week and its production lines will be closed.
Departing from Iran, Kia Motors has joined Renault, Citroen, Brilliance, Volvo and Iveco, which pulled out from Iranian market, thus, failing to fulfill their obligations to co-produce in Iran.
Saipa Automotive Group announced that it has taken steps to satisfy customers and convert their registered cars to deliverable vehicles for those who already pre-purchased Kia Motors Serato.
“Saipa reserves the right to pursue legal action [against these companies] to protect the company and its clients,” the statement said.
