As many as 85 production and construction facilities will be commissioned in agricultural sector in Iran's Semnan Province during agriculture week (June 10-17), said Hassan Miremad director of Agriculture Department in Semnan Province, Trend reports citing IRNA.
According to Miremad, 525 billion rials (about $12.5 million) were spent on the commissioning of these facilities.
Miremad added that with the commissioning of these facilities, 1,400 people will be provided with jobs.
The official said that the production facilities are for the livestock, crop and processing industries, and construction facilities are for cleaning modern irrigation systems and canals.
Miremad said that it is planned to equip 1,500 hectares of land with modern irrigation systems in the current Iranian year (began March 20, 2020).
The director noted that 4,000 hectares of land in Semnan province were equipped with modern irrigation system in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020).
There are 198,000 hectares agricultural areas in Iran's Semnan Province.
June 10-17 is celebrated as Agriculture Week in Iran.
