Trend:

Iran's Central Bank has paid 770,000 marriage loans, with the value of $8.8 billion, the CBI governor announced.

Abdulnasser Hemmati expressed concerns over the rise in the marriage loan amount, Trend reports citing IRIB.

“The limited bank resources in addition to increasing the marriage loans may cause some couples to stay in line,” he said.

Hemmati went on to say that the marriage loans should be increased in proportion to inflation.

The Iran parliament`s Joint Commission has decided to raise the ceiling for marriage loans to newlyweds in the next fiscal year that begins in March.

In the process of studying the proposed 2021-22 budget, lawmakers decided to increase the loan by at least 40 percent. The loan will increase from the current $11,000 to $16,600 per couple, IRNA cited Rahim Zare'e, the spokesperson of the commission as saying

The loans will double to $23,000 per couple if the bride is below 23 old and the groom under 25, the MP said.
