BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 11. The value of Iran's non-oil exports amounted to more than $53.1 billion over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), Iranian Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Ehsan Khandouzi said at a press conference in Tehran on April 11, 2023, Trend reports citing IRNA.

The minister added that Iran's non-oil exports increased by 9.7 percent in value compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).

“Some 27 percent of Iran's non-oil products were exported to China, 19 percent to Iraq, 14 percent to Türkiye, 11 percent to the UAE and 4 percent to India. The mentioned five countries accounted for 75 percent of Iran's non-oil exports in terms of value for the last Iranian year,” he said.

Khandouzi also noted that Iran imported goods worth approximately $59.7 billion within the last Iranian year, which is an increase of 12.5 percent in value compared to the preceding year.

According to him, Iran imported 30 percent of goods from the UAE, 26 percent from China, 10 percent from Türkiye, 5 percent from India and 3 percent from Germany during the reporting period.

Meanwhile, due to the sanctions imposed on Iran's crude oil by the US and a number of western countries, Iran focuses on the export of non-oil products.
