BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 13. Iran's imports from Russia increased by 13.7 percent in value and 47 percent in volume, during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Trend reports.

As reflected in the data of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran imported circa 1.37 million tons of goods worth $680 million from Russia for 4 months.

Meanwhile, in the same period of last Iranian year, Iran's imports from Russia amounted to 930,000 tons worth approximately $599 million.

Over 4 months, Iran mainly imported wood and wood materials, agricultural products, various types of equipment, etc. from Russia.

Alone in the 4th month (June 22 through July 22, 2023), Iran’s import from Russia stood at 420,000 tons worth approximately 215 million.

Overall, Iran imported 11.8 million tons of goods worth $19.5 billion within the first 4 months of the current Iranian year.

This is an increase of 10.8 percent in value and 6.18 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
