BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 10. Azerbaijan is negotiating the establishment of a fintech alliance with Türkiye, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Fintech Association (Azfina) Ruslan Talibov told Trend.

"We have already established contacts with most countries in the region. In October, we'll begin negotiations on forming a fintech alliance. Currently, we are in talks with Türkiye and are awaiting results. Once we have some news, we'll give you the lowdown.

We also have a project involving collaboration with various companies, and memoranda of understanding have already been signed. Our focus is mainly on industry development through cooperation. For example, if a certain country has a more developed fintech sector, they conduct webinars for us where they share their experience.

The latest webinar, for instance, was organized in collaboration with the fintech ecosystem of Poland. They shared insights into their system, while we presented ours. During the event, two Polish companies and two Azerbaijani companies gave presentations on their projects and discussed opportunities for collaboration," he noted.

Azfina was founded in December 2020 by six leading companies operating in the field of financial services. The main goals of the association are to support the creation of a digital financial ecosystem in the country and the creation of conditions for the transition to a digital economy, to help the development of fintech companies and to represent and defend their interests in state and non-state institutions, and to contribute to more effective cooperation between fintech companies and other market participants.
