Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr S. Babayeva / Azerbaijani Agriculture Minister, Ismat Abbasov, will pay a visit to Turkey. As it is reported from the Ministry, the main purpose of the visit is participation in the opening ceremony of sub-regional office of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Ankara.
Through this office the organization will coordinate Turkey, Azerbaijan and five Central Asian countries. The opening ceremony will be held on 11 July.
FAO uniting over 150 members was established on 16 October 1945 and is the first specialized establishment of the United Nations. The purpose of the organization is technical assistance in agriculture, as well as in production of food, timber and fish products. The headquarters of the FAO is located in Rome.
