Azerbaijan, Baku, 6 May / Trend / As of 1 May 2008, the number of development wells of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) (excluding joint ventures and operation companies) made up 6,136 ( 6,146 in the same period of 2007) which is 10 wells less than the same period of 2007, SOCAR said.
About 4,875 of the wells (some 4,879 on 1 May 2007) are already operating, and1,247 (1,255 on 1 May 2007) are inactive at present. 14 wells (12 as on 1 May 2007) are being developed at present.
