Azerbaijan's oil production will increase by 0.14 million bpd to 1.18 million bpd in 2011, the U.S. State Energy Information Administration (EIA) said in its monthly report on the short-term energy market outlook. This figure is 30,000 bpd less than the figure forecast last moth.
The country's oil production will remain at the same level at 1.18 million bpd in 2012.
Based on the EIA report, oil production growth in non-OPEC countries will amount to 550,000 bpd in 2011 and 230,000 bpd in 2012. Large annual production growth among these countries in 2010 will be observed in China (140,000 bpd), Brazil (170,000 bpd) and the former Soviet Union (270,000 bpd).
The EIA predicts oil production at the level of 13.46 million bpd in the former Soviet Union in 2012 compared to 13.42 million bpd in 2011.
According to BP, Azerbaijan's proven oil reserves amounted to 7 billion barrels in early 2010. Oil production in the country amounted to 1.033 million bpd in 2009, which is 13.5 percent more than the figure in 2008.
The main volume of Azerbaijan's oil production accounts for the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields. Azeri Light oil with a sulfur content of 0.15 percent (35 degrees API) is produced here.
