SOCAR plans to commission two filling stations in Baku soon, a source in SOCAR said.
He said that first, it is planned to put into operation a filling-station in Lokbatan and then a filling station which is located at 14 km of the Baku-Sumgait road.
"These stations will be commissioned soon," the source said.
At present, the total number of filling stations, operating in Azerbaijan under SOCAR brand, is eight units.
SOCAR intends to open about 30 filling stations in Azerbaijan. The investments in construction of filling stations in Azerbaijan is 20 million manat.
SOCAR Petroleum shareholders are SOCAR (51 percent) and the U.S AP International (49 percent). SOCAR Petroleum was registered on Jan. 21, 2008.
At present, SOCAR has more than 60 filling stations in Georgia, gradually opens up filling stations in Ukraine. It also operates to open filling stations in Romania.
