Latvia has proposed that Azerbaijan use its conveying system for transit purposes and logistical centers for goods transportation to Finland, Sweden, Belarus, Poland and Russia, Latvian Transport Minister Uldis Augulis told Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Latvia Elman Zeynalov at a meeting this week.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of preparations for an Azerbaijani-Latvian intergovernmental commission meeting to be held in Riga on May 11-13 under the chairmanship of the two countries' transport ministers.
Speaking at the meeting, Augulis said a priority direction for cooperation is to build logistic centers to develop ports and rail interchanges.

They also discussed direct flights between Riga and Baku.

AirBaltic plans to commence seasonal air flights between the two capitals twice a week by May 11 and thrice a week starting June 6.
