Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct.22 / Trend, E.Ismayilov /
As of Oct.22, gas volume pumped into Azerbaijani underground gas storage facilities, hits over 2.08 billion cubic meters, a source in the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) said.
He said over 1.17 billion cubic meters of total gas pumped in 2011 was pumped into the Garadag underground gas storage facility, while about 907.7 million cubic meters - into Kalmaz underground gas storage facility.
At present, gas volume in both underground gas storage facilities is over 3.22 billion cubic meters given volumes remaining from 2010 (over 1.13 billion cubic meters). This figure hit 3.05 billion cubic meters following the pumping season.
According to the source, in 2011 gas volume in underground gas storage facilities is planned to reach 3.5 billion cubic meters. Gas pumping process started in May, and will end in late November - early December.
At present, daily volume of gas pumping into underground gas storage facilities is approximately 3.9 million cubic meters, with all the volumes pumped into the Garadag underground gas storage facility. Gas pumping into the Kalmaz underground gas storage facility is not conducted due to increase in gas consumption.
About 1.92 billion cubic meters of about 1.93 billion cubic meters of gas pumped into underground gas storage facilities last season was pumped out.
Volume of gas reserves in underground gas storage facilities after the 2010-2011 pumping season hit 3.05 billion cubic meters.
