Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Georgia Alexander Khetaguri and head of the Georgian State electrical system Sulkhan Zumburidze opened on Friday rehabilitated Navtlugi-220 substation.
Work on the rehabilitation of a 220-kilowatt substation began in 2009.
As part of the planned works a new building for the control panel has been built, obsolete structures replaced by modern technology, and new devices of digital control and protection system, manufactured by ABB - the world's leading manufacturer of equipment for power engineering and automation have been installed.
A training center, where practical exercises will be held for future power engineering specialists, is being built on the territory of the substation.
