Turkmenistan sees slight increase in natgas exports

Turkmenistan’s natural gas exports showed a 0.9 percent increase year-on-year rising from 38.8 billion standard cubic meters in 2017 to 39.132 billion standard cubic meters in 2018, Trend reports citing OPEC Annual Statistical Bulletin.

The report shows that the country’s marketed production of natural gas has increased from 80.5 billion standard cubic meters in 2017 to 80.742 billion standard cubic meters in 2018, showing a 0.3 percent increase y-o-y.

Turkmenistan’s proven natural gas reserves stood at 9.805 trillion standard cubic meters in 2018, remaining unchanged from 2017, according to the OPEC data.

Reportedly, Turkmenistan’s natural gas demand has decreased by 1 percent year-on-year, dropping from 41.7 billion standard cubic meters in 2017 to 41.283 billion standard cubic meters in 2018.

This is while its crude oil reserves amounted to 600 million barrels in 2018, also remaining unchanged from 2017, said the cartel.

Turkmenistan’s crude oil production has decreased by 9.8 percent, dropping from 185,000 barrels per day in 2017 to 167,000 barrels per day in 2018, says the report.
