The National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) will start drilling operations in the Siyah makan oil field in the coming days with the Fath 93 drilling rig, said Ahmad Tamaddon, Deputy Director of the National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC), Trend reports citing the company’s website.
The deputy director said that the rig has already been installed in the Bangestan reservoir of the Siyah makan oil field. The drilling operations will be carried out within the plans of the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) on the development of 28 oil reservoirs.
“According to the contract signed between the NISOC and the Pasargad Energy Development Company (PEDC), 4 development wells will be drilled in the Siyah makan oil field,” he added.
Tamaddon noted the drilling operations will be carried out in the Bangestan reservoir in a depth of more than 5,000 meters.
A reservoir of the Gachsaran oil field in Iran's Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province (southwestern Iran) has been named the Siyah makan oil field by Iran.
A contract worth 34 million euro has been signed between the NISOC and the PEDC on the development of this field.
According to the contract, extraction from this field will reach daily 10,000 barrels. At present, daily 4,000 barrels of crude oil were extracted from the field.
