Physical gas flows, nominations at TAP’s interconnections

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec.12. Nominations for gas flows (entry) at Kipoi (Greece) interconnection of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) totaled 371,403,291 kWh for Dec.12, and 331,019,866 kWh on Dec.13, Trend reports citing TAP’s electronic platform.

At Komotini, the exit nominations for Dec.12 and Dec.13 stand at 88,178,646 kWh and 28,670,675 kWh, respectively. At Nea Mesimvria, the entry nominations for Dec.12 amount to 26,447,971 kWh, while exit nominations stand at 35,123,531 kWh and 31,365,511 kWh for Dec.12 and Dec.13, respectively.

As for Melendugno, the exit nominations stand at 277,826,315 kWh for Dec.12 and 277,102,890 kWh for Dec.13. The entry nominations for Dec.12 amounted to 4,777,230 kWh.

As the European section of the Southern Gas Corridor, TAP has the capacity to transport approximately 10 billion cubic meters of gas per annum (bcm/a) to several markets in Europe. The pipeline is also designed with the potential to expand its throughput capacity up to 20 bcm/a.

As a key part of the Southern Gas Corridor, TAP is strategically and economically important to Europe and essential in providing reliable access to a new source of natural gas. TAP plays a significant role in boosting Europe’s energy security, supply diversification, as well as decarbonisation objectives.

TAP’s shareholding is comprised of bp (20 percent), SOCAR (20 percent), Snam (20 percent), Fluxys (19 percent), Enagás (16 percent) and Axpo (5 percent).
