Iran eyes to launch new oil, gas, petrochem plants worth over $2B in Khuzestan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 26. A number of oil, gas and petrochemical plants and related facilities worth $2.2 billion will be put into use in Iran’s Khuzestan Province in the south-west of the country, on April 27-28, Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji told reporters in Tehran on April 26, Trend reports citing IRNA.

The minister said that flare gas collection center, gas refinery, etc. are among the facilities to be put into operation in the country.

Owji noted that the most important of the facilities is the NGL-3200 gas refinery. This plant will process 250 million cubic feet (about 7.08 million cubic meters) of flare gas daily. In total, $1.4 billion has been spent on the NGL-3200 gas refinery.

“Meanwhile, the 2nd unit of the mentioned refinery is expected to be launched within the next Iranian year (March 20, 2024 through March 20, 2025),” he added.

In addition, two pressure stations related to the NGL-900 and NGL-1000 plants, and a 160 megawatt-hour power station related to the oil industry will also be launched in the country, Owji also pointed out.

On April 27-28, Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi will pay a visit to Iran's Khuzestan Province. During the visit, he will participate in the opening of a number of facilities.
