Iran announces number of licenses for operation of enterprises

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 20

Iran has issued 6,783 licenses for establishing industrial enterprises from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020) to June 16, Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran Saeed Zarandi said at a press conference, Trend reports citing IRIB.

Zarandi said that in addition, 1,050 industrial enterprises were licensed to operate.

The deputy minister added that in total, 18,500 people will be employed with the commissioning of these enterprises.

Zarandi stressed that 237 trillion rials (about $5.66 billion) have been invested in these enterprises.

According to the deputy minister, in order to further strengthen domestic production, it is planned to produce previously imported goods worth of $3.2 billion domestically.

"In this regard, it is planned to maximize the production of 2,200 facilities operating below their production capacity," he said.
