Iran discloses loan volumes disbursed to agricultural sector

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 29. Iranian banks issued loans worth 504 trillion rials (about $1.29 billion) in the agricultural sector during two months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through June 20, 2024), the statistics of Iran's Central Bank said, Trend reports.

According to the statistics, about 297 trillion rials (about $759 million) worth of loans were issued as working capital in the agricultural sector.

The statistics indicate that 129 trillion rials (about $328 million) worth of loans were issued during three months for the establishment of enterprises and the construction of orchards and farmlands in the agricultural sector.

Furthermore, the information notes that 36,6 trillion rials (about $93,5 million) worth of loans were issued during 3 months to develop Iran's agricultural sector.

Meanwhile, the statistics say that the agricultural sector issued loans worth 20,3 trillion rials (about $51.9 million) for self-employment, 1.22 billion rials (about $3.12 million) for personal expenses, 87 billion rials (about $224,000) for renovation, and 92 billion rials (about $234,000) for housing.To note, Iranian banks issued loans worth about 9.55 quadrillion rials (about $24.4 billion) last year.
