Azerbaijan shares inflation forecast ahead of 2025

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 18. Azerbaijan is anticipating an annual inflation rate of approximately 4.6 percent in the basic scenario for 2025, Trend reports via the Ministry of Finance’s report.

The Ministry of Economy developed the projections, drawing on insights from international organizations about commodity prices, the stability of the manat's exchange rate, and the anti-inflation measures the Azerbaijani government is currently implementing.

"Based on forecasts from international organizations concerning commodity prices, the stability of the manat's exchange rate, and the anti-inflation measures of the Ministry of Economy, the annual inflation rate in the basic scenario for 2025 is projected at 4.6 percent. A gradual decline is expected, with inflation estimated at 3.8 percent by 2028," the ministry said.

To note, the World Bank projects that annual inflation in Azerbaijan will be around 4.2 percent in 2024, decreasing to 3.4 percent in 2025, and further down to three percent in 2026.

Meanwhile, the UN anticipates an average inflation rate of 5.9 percent for 2024 and 3.9 percent for 2025, while the ADB predicts inflation rates of 5.5 percent in 2024 and 6.5 percent in 2025. Dutch ING forecasts a lower rate of 2.2 percent for 2024, increasing to 4.7 percent in 2025, and stabilizing at 4.5 percent in 2026.
