In the first quarter, the Production Unit Baktelekom of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan provided 5.632 million manat services to population, 11 percent more than the same period of the last year, the Ministry said.
During the reporting period, the income of the company amounted to 1,041,600 manat, 10.5 percent or 1 million manat more as compared to the first quarter of 2008. Investments amounted to 1,768,000 manats, payments to the Public budget and the State Fund of Social Protection exceeded 2 million manats.
During this period, Baktelekom put 8,845 new telephone numbers into operation.
The number of ADSL users increased 1,685 to 8,025 people.
