Azerbaijani telecommunications company to provide WiMAX wireless service

The Azerbaijan telecommunications company Telecom Invest has won the right to provide Delta Telecom's WiMAX broadband wireless services, Telecom Invest told Trend.

As the company said, the service tariffs and equipment costs remain unchanged. The company is also giving users a two-day testing period to try out WiMAX wireless modems.

WiMAX was commercially launched in early 2010.

The cost of Internet access via WiMAX technology varies from 10 to 100 manat. The data transfer rate in the Mobile WiMAX network is up to 2 Gbit/s.

The WiMAX Delta Telecom network is based on the 802.16e standard, is also known as Mobile WiMAX, and is intended for mobile devices moving at speeds up to 120 km/h.
