The Azerbaijani Azerpoct postal service operator's Azerexpresspost Express Mail Service (EMS) was named one of the best in the CIS, head of the Communications and IT Ministry's Postal Services Department, Chairman of the Postal Services of the Regional Commonwealth of Communications Novmruz Mammadov told Trend.
Express delivery is an international service provided by the Universal Postal Organization (UPU), which organized the EMS cooperative in 1998. EMS services are rendered in 200 countries.
"Azerpoct has been named as one of the best operators in the CIS. For quality of services, Azerpoct ranked fourth after Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova," Mammadov said.
He said the rating was announced at the Joint 32nd/21st Meeting of the RCC Postal Commission and Postal Operators Board earlier this month in Kazakhstan.
Preparations for a regional roundtable on the UPU's future strategy and the Postal Triple International Forum and Exhibition in June in St. Petersburg were also discussed.
