The Institute of Information Technologies of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences increased the data transfer rate of AzScienceNet from 100 Mbps up to 132 Mbps, the Institute said.
The scientific bodies of the Academy of Sciences got static IP-addresses in connection with the ongoing work to improve material and technical base of AzScienceNet.
The Institute works on the rational distribution of speed access to the Internet between the the academy bodies.
At present, additional services are planned to be organized on the basis of a computer network. The institute determines the key promising directions to be implemented within AzScienceNet. They include a data center of the Academy of Sciences, Web-hosting services for academic institutions of the republic, online-video conferencing with other countries.
AzScienceNet has three main objectives: assisting in establishing international links, available for research and academic networks, providing the opportunities for growth of network infrastructures and information sharing and staff training.
