Number of subscribers of Georgian Silknet mobile network up

The number of subscribers of the Silknet mobile network has increased, compared to the MagtiCom and Vion Georgia networks from January through May 2020 in Georgia, Trend reports referring to Georgian Communications Commission.

The increase in the number of subscribers of Silknet began in December last year, when 7,263 mobile subscribers abandoned other networks and switched to Silknet.

In the first 5 months of this year 15,915 mobile subscribers were transferred from other networks to Silknet, 4,450 - to MagtiCom and 3,195 - to Vion Georgia.

A total of 21,720 subscribers switched to Silknet in three months of 2020, 3,557- to MagtiCom and 3,490 - to Vion Georgia.

A sharp increase in the number of transferred subscribers was observed several times in the past: from December 2012 to February 2013, 118,936 subscribers were transferred to MagtiCom from other networks, and in February through April 2014, 83,493 subscribers were transferred to Silknet.

In February 2015, Silknet acquired 12,167 subscribers from other networks.

As of June 2020, the number of mobile network subscribers is as follows:

1) MagtiCom - 1.91 million subscribers;
2) Silknet - 1.64 million subscribers;
3) Vion Georgia - 1.22 million subscribers.
