Azerbaijan’s State Agency for Tourism plans to open a representative office in Russia until the end of 2018, Head of the International Markets Department of Azerbaijan’s State Agency for Tourism Sevinj Zeynalli said.
She was speaking Sept. 27 at a round table meeting on the “Development of cooperation in the field of tourism”, held as part of the 9th Russian-Azerbaijani interregional forum.
She noted that the National Tourism Promotion Bureau of Azerbaijan carried out certain studies of world brands and identified 18 strategic markets for the opening of representative offices, and Russia is one of such strategic markets.
She added that the main task of the office is to analyze the Russian market, conduct and participate in various events.
In addition, the representative office will conduct seminars for Russian travel agencies, as well as inform about the opportunities and tourism destinations in Azerbaijan, she said.
In turn, Head of the Federal Agency for Tourism of Russia Oleg Safonov expressed support for the opening of this office in Russia, noting that the Russian side is interested in presenting tourism opportunities in its market.
