BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 5. In July 2024, Azerbaijan was visited by 271,591 foreigners, which is 21 percent higher than the figure for the same period in 2023 (224,826), Trend reports.
According to the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan, the top 10 countries by number of visitors in the reporting month of 2024 were Russia (78,140), Türkiye (34,719), Saudi Arabia (24,255), India (20,124), Iran (17,901), Kazakhstan (10,708), Pakistan (9,819), Georgia (9,125), Oman (5,563), and the UAE (5,465).
From January through July this year, Azerbaijan saw 1.5 million foreign visitors, a 31 percent increase from 1.14 million in the same period of 2023.
In 2023, Azerbaijan received a total of 2.08 million foreign visitors, up 30.2 percent from 1.6 million in 2022.
Monthly visitor numbers in 2023 were: January—119,094, February—113,473, March—136,505, April—154,233, May—190,081, June—205,910, July—224,826, August—200,138, September—192,115, October—187,843, November—169,461, and December—192,869.
