BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 7. Beijing Trans Eurasia International Logistics Co Ltd. has announced the volume for container block trains traveling from China's Xi'an through the Middle Corridor to German cities in October, Trend reports.

"Container block trains from Xi'an utilizing the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR, or Middle Corridor) are scheduled to depart on October 9, 16, and 23. The transit from Xi'an to the port of Baku requires roughly 13 days, whereas the trip from Xi'an to Duisburg, the ultimate goal of the TMTM, necessitates approximately 28 days," the company noted.

Notably, Xi'an serves as the largest loading hub for export products in China.

This year, up to 300 container block trains are expected to pass through Baku from China via the Middle Corridor.

Recently, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Railways CJSC Rovshan Rustamov, indicated that the TITR could handle up to 1000 container trains annually in the medium term.

In 2023, 2.76 million tons of cargo were transported via the TITR, with a forecast of 4.2 million tons for 2024.

The TITR was established in 2014 to enhance cargo transportation in the Caspian and Black Sea regions.
