The town of Zaisan in the East Kazakhstan region has held festive events dedicated to the anniversary of Independence, Caspionet reported.

The Abizhanov family presented their fellow townsmen with a miniature Kazak Yeli monument ahead of this date. At first, the patrons of art thought a long time about the gift to their hometown in honor of the country's anniversary of independence and reached the decision after visiting Astana.

3 million tenge was spent on its construction. Though 7 times smaller, the Zaisan monument is identical to the original. Finishing works are being completed at the moment. Local builders believe that townspeople will like this present.

"We are very happy to work on this monument. All the builders are local. We first reduced the size on the computer and tried to preserve all the details as much as possible," said Saken Malgazhdarov, who took part in building the monument.

Another gift to the town is a park. Seedlings were brought from Ust-Kamenogorsk. There are currently more than 30 varieties of exotic flowers and plants. The park has its own irrigation system, gazebos and decorative figures.

"People come here and relax in the evenings, and celebratory events are held here quite often as well. Every wedding is not complete without photographs from this square," Almagul Saparova, resident of Zaisan said.

18 new vehicles were provided to local border guards in honor of the anniversary of independence. All-terrain vehicles will be distributed according to the number of frontier posts and facilitate their operation considerably. In the meantime, festivities ended with a friendly football match.
