Kazakhstan looks to allocate funds for restoration of infrastructure

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 12. Kazakhstan needs 3.8 trillion Kazakh tenge (around $8 billion) to restore 134,000 kilometers of engineering networks, Alikhan Smailov, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, stated, Trend reports, citing the PM's press service.

Speaking at the extended meeting of the Government, Smailov said that appropriate measures to fulfill this task will be approved this week.

Kazakh PM added that repairing engineering networks will reduce the number of accidents, shutdowns, and technical heat losses, in addition to improving the quality of service.

The issue of repairing energy infrastructure became an important topic in Kazakhstan after the accident forced the Ekibastuz plant to shut down. As a result, thousands of people were left without electricity and heating during cold.
