BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 14. By the end of 2027 additional 25 water reservoirs will be built in Kazakhstan, Trend reports, citing the press office of the PM.
During the government meeting chaired by the PM, Serikkali Brekeshev, Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan, said that 16 active reservoirs, and more than 3,500 kilometers of irrigation canals will be reconstructed.
Additionally, for the purpose of protection of water resources adoption of a new Water Code is planned.
The minister also spoke about the plans of the Government to reduce the amount of wastes and pollution. Starting from January 1, 2025, enterprises will be required to implement the best available technologies.
