Kazakhstan reveals plans to modernize utility infrastructure in 2024

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 5. Kazakhstan plans to allocate 450 billion tenge (about $985.7 million) of investments to modernize utility infrastructure in 2024, Trend reports.

According to the government of Kazakhstan, thanks to these funds, 6,500 kilometers of utility networks will be repaired.

Meanwhile, in 2023, 500 billion tenge (about $1.9 billion) was allocated for the modernization of utility infrastructure, including 327 billion tenge (about $716 million) from the budget.

As a result, a number of large heat sources and 5,800 kilometers of utility networks were repaired.

Furthermore, thanks to the ongoing tariff reform, until 2029 it is planned to attract about 3 trillion tenge (about $6.5 billion) of investments to modernize 62,000 kilometers of utility networks and reduce wear and tear by 20 percent.
