ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 19. A huge share of Kazakhstan's oil exports passed through Russian territory in 2023, Trend reports, citing the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan.

"At the end of 2023, the volume of transportation of Kazakhstani oil through the territory of Russia amounted to 65.8 million tons. This is 93 percent of total Kazakh oil exports," the Ministry said.

Notably, Kazakhstan exports 80 percent of all oil produced.

Meanwhile, in 2023, Kazakhstan exported 1.392 million tons of oil through Azerbaijan along the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and further to Europe.

Furthermore, Kazakhstan produced 90 million tons of oil in 2023, which is 6.9 percent higher than in 2022.

At the same time, oil exports also increased and amounted to 70.5 million tons, which is 9.6 percent more than the previous year.

Moreover, Kazakhstan plans to increase oil production in 2024 to 90.3 million tons.
