ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 17. Annual inflation in Kazakhstan decreased to 8.4 percent in June 2024 (from 8.5 percent in May), while it slowed in 10 regions, climbed in 9, and was steady in 1 region, Trend reports.
Meanwhile, the National Bank of Kazakhstan reports that monthly inflation in Kazakhstan for the reporting period was 0.4 percent.
The Karaganda and Mangystau regions have the highest annual rates of inflation.
Food prices fell to 5.4 percent year-on-year in June (from 5.5 percent in May). Almaty city saw the greatest increase in goods prices (7.7 percent), while the Turkistan region saw the smallest (3.2 percent).
The increase in prices for non-food products fell to 7.4 percent from 7.6 percent in May. The highest number was reported in Mangystau (14 percent), and the lowest in the Almaty region (5.5 percent).
Prices for paid services decreased by 13.8 percent year-on-year in June (compared to 13.9 percent in May), with prices rising much higher in Karaganda (18.8 percent) and significantly lower in Ulytau (8.2 percent).
