ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 18. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development's (EBRD) current project portfolio in Kazakhstan stands at 2.9 billion euros as of May 31, 2024, based on 121 active projects, Trend reports.
According to the bank's data, investments in sustainable infrastructure projects remain at 70 percent of the overall portfolio. The volume of these investments increased from 1.98 billion to 2.04 billion euros.
The EBRD's portfolio includes 23 percent for industrial, trade, and agricultural projects, with the volume rising to 663 million euros from 660 million euros.
The share of investments in the financial sector increased to 7 percent, with the investment volume growing from 161 million to 203 million euros.
Overall, the bank has invested about 10.2 billion euros in 324 projects in Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan is the EBRD's largest and longest-running banking business in Central Asia.
