ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 12. Over 976 million passengers were transported across all modes of transport in Kazakhstan from January through July 2024, Trend reports.
The country's Bureau of National Statistics' data shows that this is 11.3 percent more than in the same period in 2023.
At the same time, passenger turnover for the above period amounted to 46.5 billion passenger-kilometers, which is 14.1 percent more year-on-year.
In addition, passenger turnover increased in Almaty (22.2 percent), Astana (18.3 percent) cities and Mangystau (53.6 percent), Almaty (52.5 percent), Ulytau (32.2 percent), Kostanay (26.4 percent), Zhambyl (18.2 percent), Pavlodar (15.4 percent), Atyrau (9.5 percent), Kyzylorda (7.9 percent), Akmola (3.7 percent), West Kazakhstan (3.3 percent) and Aktobe (0.6 percent) regions.
Meanwhile, over 1.579 billion passengers were transported across all modes of transport in Kazakhstan from January through December 2023.
To date, 13 international transport corridors have been formed and are in operation in Kazakhstan, including 5 railways and 8 roads.
Furthermore, about $30 billion has been invested in the transport and logistics infrastructure of Kazakhstan over the past 10 years.
Moreover, in the next five years, at least 40 billion euros will be needed to implement major infrastructure projects in the field of transportation in Kazakhstan.
