ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 17. The volume of electricity production in Kazakhstan amounted to 69.1 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) from January through July 2024, Trend reports.

Thus, production volume went up by 3.8 percent compared to the same period in 2023 (66.6 billion kilowatt-hours).

At the same time, in July 2024 alone, 9.1 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity were produced in Kazakhstan, which is 5.5 percent more than in the same month of 2023 (8.66 billion kilowatt-hours).

In addition to this, compared to June 2024 (8.72 billion kilowatt-hours), electricity production in July increased by 4.8 percent.

Meanwhile, electricity production in Kazakhstan amounted to 112.8 billion kWh in 2023. Electricity imports during this period amounted to 3.4 billion kWh, and exports were 1.4 billion kWh.

At the same time, in 2023, the volume of electricity consumption was at the level of 115 billion kWh (in 2022, 112.9 billion kWh).
