Kazakhstan significantly increases trade turnover with EU countries in 1H2024

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 18. Kazakhstan's trade turnover with EU countries from January through June 2024 amounted to $24.2 billion, Trend reports.

Data from the country's Bureau of National Statistics shows that the volume of trade turnover increased by 15.8 percent compared to the same period last year ($20.9 billion).

At the same time, exports to the EU countries for the above period amounted to $18.7 billion, which is 19.7 percent more year-on-year ($15.6 billion).

In addition, imports from the EU countries from January through June 2024 increased by 4.25 percent and amounted to $5.5 billion. From January through July 2023, imports amounted to $5.3 billion.

Among the EU countries, Kazakhstan's largest trading partner from January through June 2024 was Italy. Thus, trade turnover between the countries amounted to $9.9 billion. Of these, exports to Italy were $9.26 billion, and imports from Italy were $624 million.
