BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, March 15. Kyrgyzstan's trade with Russia reached $194.871 million in January 2024, comprising 16.7 percent of the country's total trade, Trend reports.
Data from Kyrgyzstan’s State Statistical Committee reveals an 8 percent increase compared to January 2023, when trade stood at $180.484 million.
Exports from Kyrgyzstan to Russia amounted to $30.679 million in January 2024, which is a 21.9 percent decrease from January 2023's figure of $39.263 million. This accounted for 16.9 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s total exports.
Conversely, imports from Russia surged to $164.192 million in January 2024, a 16.3 percent increase from January 2023's $141.220 million. Russian imports accounted for 16.6 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s total imports.
Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover reached $1.168 billion in January 2024, which is a 36.8 percent increase compared to January 2023. Exports amounted to $181.3 million, a 46.6 percent increase compared to January 2023. Imports increased by 35.1 percent compared to January 2023, reaching $987.5 million.
Furthermore, the trade gap rose to $806.2 million, suggesting rising demand for imported products versus exports.
