BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, July 18. Kyrgyzstan exported 4.2 tons of gold from January through May 2024, a 40.8 percent increase compared to 3 tons during the same period in 2023, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the value of these exports reached $295.213 million, which is a 55.9 percent rise from $189.310 million in January–May 2023.
During the period under review, Kyrgyzstan exported gold to four countries: China (1.8 tons), the UK (1.4 tons), Switzerland (971.4 kg), and the UAE (13.5 kg).
Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan foreign trade turnover amounted to $6.488 billion from January through May 2024, which is an 18.6 percent increase compared to January–May 2023.
Exports totaled $1.046 billion, a 4.8 percent rise from January–May 2023. Imports increased by 21.7 percent year-on-year, reaching $5.442 billion.
