BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, July 22. Kyrgyzstan imported 35,816 passenger cars from China from January through May 2024, which is 6.6 times more than in the same period of 2023 (5,390), Trend reports.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the value of the imports reached $600.158 million, increasing by 4.9 times over $120.865 million in January–May 2023.
China was the leading exporter of passenger cars to Kyrgyzstan during the reporting period. In total, Kyrgyzstan imported 63,900 passenger cars from January through May 2024, worth over $1.049 billion.
The volume of imports rose by 54.5 percent compared to 41,363 cars in the same period in 2023. The value of these imports increased by 56 percent from $673.604 million in January–May 2023.
Kyrgyzstan foreign trade turnover amounted to $6.488 billion from January through May 2024, which is an 18.6 percent increase compared to January–May 2023.
Exports totaled $1.046 billion, a 4.8 percent rise from January–May 2023. Imports increased by 21.7 percent year-on-year, reaching $5.442 billion.
