Kyrgyzstan assumes growth in agricultural production by year-end

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 21. Kyrgyzstan expects agricultural production to reach 400 billion soms ($4.6 million) in 2024, which is a 7 percent increase compared to last year, thanks to favorable weather conditions, President Sadyr Zhaparov said, Trend reports.

He made the statement while congratulating the workers of the country’s agro-industrial complex on their professional holiday.

According to him, the livestock and processing sectors have achieved strong results across all macroeconomic indicators.

"I want to emphasize that in order to support agricultural production, the government is successfully implementing seven investment projects under the state investment program. These include Financing Agriculture Credit for the Agro-Industrial Complex projects, as well as financing initiatives in irrigation and leasing of agricultural machinery," Zhaparov said.

As per the data from the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the country's agricultural production totaled 302.1 billion soms ($3.5 billion) from January through September 2024, which is a 6.7 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
