ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 1. Since the signing of the agreement on strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, the trade turnover between them has increased 5 times since 2017, Trend reports referring to Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan Akmaljon Kuchkarov
He made the remark in an article dedicated to the Independence Day of Uzbekistan, celebrated on September 1. The ambassador said that by the end of 2022, the volume of mutual trade between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan has approached the $1 billion mark.
Furthermore, he added that since the signing of the strategic partnership agreement, interregional cooperation processes have been launched, mechanisms for joint work have appeared within the framework of the business council of entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
Kuchkarov also stressed great importance of the declaration signed in October 2022 on expanding strategic partnership between the countries, which in the future will have a significant impact on the expansion of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties.
Economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan has grown significantly over the past few years, opening up new opportunities for both countries. Both states are actively working to strengthen mutually beneficial relations and develop sectors that contribute to economic growth and joint projects.
