Turkmenistan's industrial sector surges with impressive growth

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, June 10. Production at Turkmenistan's industrial sector enterprises, which are overseen by the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations, increased by 4.1 percent between January and May of this year, Trend reports.

This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Government of Turkmenistan, Batyr Atdaev, at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on June 7.

According to him, the growth rate of trade turnover in the first five months of this year in this ministry amounted to 6.5 percent compared to the same indicators last year.

Furthermore, the Deputy Chairman added that during the specified period, the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan conducted 125 trading sessions, during which 11,833 contracts were registered.

"The growth rate for the works carried out by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan during the period under review amounted to 105.8 percent. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry has held 11 exhibitions and 54 forums," he said.

To note, Turkmenistan's industrial sector is booming like never before, fueled by smart investments in key areas like chemicals, construction, textiles, oil and gas, and building materials.

Government initiatives aimed at modernizing and strengthening the economy, including the creation of new manufacturing plants and infrastructure improvements, are attracting foreign investors and enhancing the competitive advantage of local enterprises in global markets.
