ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, June 25. In Turkmenistan's eastern Danew district of Lebap, farmers grew 350 hectares of potatoes this season, Trend reports.
According to official data, this year farmers in the region gathered 14.3 tons of yield per hectare of cultivated land, resulting in a total volume of over 6,950 tons of potatoes, thereby surpassing the target.
All in all, a whopping 1,400 hectares of land were worked tirelessly throughout the Lebap region this season, resulting in a bountiful harvest of over 19,700 tons of potatoes.
The harvested crop is offered to customers at competitive prices in markets and shops, with excess quantities transported to specialized refrigerated storage facilities owned by the Miwe Agro-Industrial Association.
